About Fabienne

She is a recipient of the City of Boston Opportunity Fund. With that funding, she has made it her mission to give back to her community, especially to young string musicians. She inspires and educates them to pursue careers in music beyond the traditional classical path. Fabienne encourages students to explore their creativity through contemporary music.

She has also collaborated with artists and collectives such as Sammy Rae & Friends, Xiomara and Axel Tosca, Regina Carter with The Imagine Orchestra (led by Bill Banfield), and Broadway’s Hadestown National Tour.

Beyond the stage, Fabienne works as a string arranger, educator, studio musician, and artistic mentor. Her work reflects a deep belief in music as a powerful tool for connection, healing, and innovation.

She is currently the music director for X: A Soul Wound Memoir, written by Fulbright recipient and emerging playwright Shanelle Villegas.

Above all, Fabienne’s music is soul-driven, future-facing, and rooted in feeling. It is shaped by culture and alive with possibility.

Through FABMVSIC, she invites audiences into a space where the violin does not just sing — it speaks, cries, loves, heals, and uplifts.

Fabienne Rose Jean, known artistically as FABMVSIC, is a Haitian American violinist, composer, arranger, and improviser who is redefining what the violin can express in today’s music. She blends the soul of jazz, the emotional depth of R&B, the rhythm of hip hop, and the expansiveness of world music to create a sound that is rich, expressive, and unmistakably her own, fluid across genres.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Fabienne lives and creates between New York City and Boston. She is making waves as both a solo artist and as a founding member of the Nebulous String Quartet, a boundary-pushing ensemble known for integrating improvisation, electronics, and experimentation. Together, they have transformed the traditional string quartet format into a platform for storytelling, innovation, and genre-defying collaboration.

Through FABMVSIC, Fabienne channels deep musicality and spiritual intensity into every performance. Her solos go beyond technical displays and become emotional narratives. Using tools like Ableton Live, electronic pedals, and live production techniques, she builds layered, immersive soundscapes that invite listeners into something intimate and transformative.

She has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Dizzy’s Jazz Club at Lincoln Center, Celebrity Series of Boston, and the Berklee Performance Center.
